Mr. President, there are none who do not know Katherine MacNaughton, a woman whose scholarship is matched by her own wise and balanced spirit. Her famous book, The Development of the Theory and Practice of Education in the Province of New Brunswick, 1784-1900, though published seven years ago, continues to receive the well-deserved praise of all intelligent readers.
This scholarly alumna of ours I commend to you, that she be admitted to that most worthy of honorary degrees in this University.
