ENCAENIA, MAY, 1971
JEAN EUDES DUBÉ
to be Doctor of Laws

We honour today the Federal Minister of Veterans Affairs. Born in la belle province, he has become a New Brunswicker by choice. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, the School of Foreign Services of Georgetown University, and the Law School of UNB. Monsieur Dubé has been a Member of Parliament since 1962 and represents the constituency of Restigouche.

His interest in international affairs is keen and he has been Chairman of the House of Commons Standing Committee on External Affairs, President of the Canadian NATO Parliamentarians Association, and was the first Canadian to be President of the North Atlantic Assembly. Law as well as public service has made its claim upon him. A Queen's Counsel, Monsieur Dubé has practised law in Campbellton and has been Director of the New Brunswick Barristers Society.
