Valedictory Address
Delivered by: Kayley Gregoire
Valedictorian Kayley Gregoire’s dedication to academic excellence is matched by her commitment to her peers’ success and to the well-being of those outside the UNB community. As a biology honours student, Kayley has combined her studies in the sciences with leadership, mentorship and service. As a peer mentor and volunteer teaching assistant in the faculty of science, Kayley has supported many first-year undergraduate students by creating an environment of openness, connection and support.
Experiences like these led Kayley to pursue leadership positions such as her role as co-chair of Connect the Thoughts, a student-led health case competition that challenges participants to develop evidence-based solutions to pressing healthcare issues in New Brunswick.
This spirit of involvement is reflected in her past participation in UNB’s Mental Health Association and UNB’s S.P.R.I.N.G. program, a weekly two-hour gym-and-swim initiative pairing children with disabilities with UNB students.
Kayley’s volunteer work extends beyond the university and reflects the same compassionate and respectful approach through her engagement with residents in long-term care homes in the community.
Her academic accomplishments are exceptional. With a 4.3 GPA, Kayley is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Sir Howard Douglas Award and multiple departmental prizes recognizing her promise in research and scholarship. She has further distinguished herself through funded research assistant positions focused on aging, long-term care and health systems.
Kayley Gregoire is graduating with a bachelor of science degree with honours in biology and will deliver her valedictory address in Fredericton on Wednesday, May 27 at 10 a.m.
