Valedictory Address

Valedictorian Subeen Jang is committed to building supportive connections wherever she goes. As president of the UNB Saint John Nursing Society, she has led with empathy, purpose and a strong belief in collective success, fostering meaningful connections among their cohort.
Through her roles as a residence assistant, learning community student leader and nursing peer mentor, Subeen has consistently created spaces where students feel seen, supported and empowered to thrive.
A passionate advocate, she has represented nursing students on the Nursing Curriculum Committee, ensuring student voices are heard and working collaboratively with faculty to enhance learning experiences. Her leadership and advocacy roles extend beyond campus through her work tutoring high school students through the Teen Resource Centre, hosting music events in long term care homes and volunteering at church and elsewhere in the community.
Whether she is mentoring students or supporting peers in residence life, Subeen approaches every role with warmth, compassion and pragmatism.
Her academic excellence matches her leadership. As a Dean’s List student, she has balanced the rigours of nursing studies with exceptional service both on campus and within the broader Saint John community. Subeen exemplifies the values of dedication and care that live at the heart of the nursing profession.
Subeen Jang is graduating with a bachelor of nursing and will deliver her valedictory address in Saint John on Friday, May 29 at 3 p.m.
