During his address to the graduates, J. Ernest Anderson, a former provincial deputy minister of youth and a retired Army officer, said Canadian society is on the road to decadence.

He blamed the decline on "generations older than yours" and told the graduates "it will be your task to reverse this trend and end this deterioration."
