Ms. Coates addressed the graduates, and she told them to look back on the struggles they’ve experienced on the road to their goals, and never forget them.
She also asked every person there to reach out to a poor person, and get to know him or her. Ms. Coates says society judges poor people before they have all the facts. "We don’t know [their] story unless we try to reach them," she said.
