In his address to the graduates, Mr. Pond urged them to challenge the status quo and add some new approaches aimed at investing in entrepreneurship right here in Saint John.

"Instead of going to work for a large, established organization, are you giving some thought to going to work for yourself and building your own enterprise, whether it is a profit or not-for-profit-type?

"Better still, are you thinking of doing it right here in Saint John, New Brunswick?

"We need to change the job creation formula to reverse the negative impacts of the brain drain spiral."

He promised the support of himself and other seasoned community leaders in providing help with everything from seed capital to mentoring.
